"In the Pursuit of Greatness, we Failed to do Good.

The inherhent inhumanity of godhood. Of losing your hunamity in the race to preserve yourself.

You're twenty, and while you're a god, humanity is all you know.

You're One hundred, and you still look twenty, but you're just a really old man.

Suddenly you're five hundred, and being a human is a faint memory

You're over a thousand, while you were once human, godhood is all you know

You're ten thousand, you can act human, you look human, but that is a terrible mistake for a human to make

Gods in my fantasy world

Every god in my fantasy world was once mortal. Something they did while mortal, caused magic to change them in some way to grant near immortality. While every god is killable, good luck trying to kill something that doesn't physically age, and has had all the time in the world to ponder killing you. Not to mention how the way to kill them is not always the same as killing a normal creature. Sure, some of them are weak around their organs, but many don't even have organs, or have multiple functioning sets. Some of them have a special gem that keeps them alive, and in order to break it, your midn must be stronger than their own. Good luck trying to kill a creature made almost entirely of fire, with its only physicality being its eyes and the bottom of its legs.

My gods aren't particularly scary from looking at them. Even their personalities reflect who they were when they were alive. However, the longer you're alive, the less likely you are to see people as people. There's a level of humanity you lose when you've been alive for dozens or even hundreds of lifetimes. The older a god is, the less likely they are to see you as an equal.

A new young god of only 400 sees you as a person. After all, he was a person just like you not that long ago and he has not lost touch with his humanity. He cares and loves and feels loss as strongly as the day he was turned into a god. An older god who is 10,000 relearns her humanity and helps the young god handle the years he faces ahead of him, in exchange for remembering who she once was as a person. A survivor of genocide, an angry young woman with nothing but her fire to keep her company. The oldest god sees them as children. She was not the first, but she knows. A god only survives this long if they're clever and know how to play at being mortal. She sees mortals as nothing but pawns in her game, but knows how to make them feel loved by the water she controls. She plays the long game, prevents anyone but herself from seeing the whole picture. And so, the oldest god remains. She was here to watch thd sea she resides in be created, and she will see the day that it dries up.

Whether or not you're human, you all bleed the same. You will be reclaimed by the earth when you die.

If the gods fear death, that means they can be killed

How to Kill God

Research.

When did they become a god? Do we know how? Have they been hurt in the past? How? These questions must be heard before creating a plan. What can kill one god can be compeltly harmless to another.

Plan

Once you know how they became a god, or the possibilities behind it, figure out what you need. Who are you fighting? Will you need to be impervious to fire? Illusions? Drowning? What will to need to kill God?

Kill God

Do your plan. Bury the body more than 6 feet under. If they somehow manage to survive, make sure they cannot escape until thier whole body is gone. Make them be forgotten. Lose their power as a god

Surrender

Swear fealty to your human gods. Make a god out of anything. You cannot live without your God. Make a god from clothing. A partner. Worship them. Pay no heed to the fact you cannot love someone placed on a pedastle. That their hands are too far to cup your face. To share your warmth. You must be inferior to something. Anything. Make yourself loveable after killing the unkillable.

Acceptance

You will always have that blood on your hands. Godkiller is not a title bestowed to just anybody. It may be aimless without God over your head, but you are free. Freedom is terrifying. Live with the fear. You will become accustomed to looking over your shoulder in case they are there to finish the job on you. You will be okay. You will survive

Mortals love because they have limited time with those they love. Gods do not have this concept. Time runs like a river to them and a few human lives is but a drop in the ocean of the time they have
